The rainbow is enough.

Triple-threat writer, director and producer Craig Stewart has released the trailer for his stage play, A Day in the Life.  This provocative theater production examines the lives of SGL characters as they navigate their way through treacherous, homophobic territory in the home, in the church and in the street.

Tackling this subject matter makes Stewart a pioneer on the so-called Chitlin Circuit, as Life delves into the queer experience, but avoids sensationalizing it.  Rather, the play provides an honest look at the challenges facing a community that is at once misrepresented and underrepresented.

According to Stewart, A Day in the Life has played to sellout crowds in Atlanta and is currently being pitched as a cable television series.

Inevitably,  there will be comparisons to Tyler Perry--though, it seems to me that Stewart's subject matter is already more artistic, daring, serious and urgent.  However, I do hope he reaches Perry's level of success.
