Provocative new film, Change. |
Living Out Loud with Darian put me on to this independent film that has been making its way through various film festivals.
From writer/co-producer/co-director Melissa Leigh Osborne, co-producer Bridgette Wright, and director Jeff McCutcheon, Change is the coming-of-age story of Jaime (played by newcomer Sean McClam), a young African American Same Gender Loving man living in California. The film explores the schismatic effects the election of President Barack Obama and passing of Proposition 8 have on his life by examining both the racial pride and homophobia present in his community.
Interesting and important subject matter. I hope that future productions will take a similarly revealing look at racism in the gay community.
Up and coming hottie, Sean McClam |
Change was the winner of Best LGBT Film at the San Diego Black Film Festival.
