Eddie Long's New Birth Missionary Baptist Church has been laying off employees and cutting staff salaries. The church's official stance is that it's because of the economy. However, Fox Atlanta's investigative team has discovered that the real source of the church's financial woes is a drop in parishioner attendance.
Could it be that the some of the sheep have finally seen the shepherd for what he is?
The team also learned that the church brought in $20 million last year, over $1 million of which went directly to Long. Church members call that $1 million plus a "love offering."
I wonder if that's what Long calls it when he gives some of it to his pretty young things.
